KyberSwap is decentralized and permissionless, not requiring account sign-up or personal information. All transactions on KyberSwap are on-chain, which means transactions do not need a centralized third-party, like a centralized exchange, and they can be easily verified using the Ethereum or other chains’ block explorer.

Projects can build with KyberSwap to access its different features, such as the instant settlement of token swaps, liquidity aggregation for the best rates, liquidity pools, and a customizable business model. Through the Gitcoin Grants Program, there has been over $54 million distributed to early-stage builders that champion public goods initiatives in decentralized finance (DeFi), climate, open sourcing, and beyond.

Core products include Gitcoin Grants Stack, the end-to-end grants management solution, Allo Protocol, an open-source funding protocol, and Gitcoin Passport, an all-encompassing decentralized identity management tool.

GTC is Gitcoin’s governance token, launched in late May 2021. The token is needed for the creation and funding of the DAO that will govern Gitcoin.

SVM innovatively exposes smart contract and blockchain security information, enabling unprecedented ways to access, check, and incorporate risk into the decisions of smart contracts.

Linear is a decentralized delta-one asset protocol capable of instantly creating synthetic assets with unlimited liquidity. The project opens traditional assets like commodities, forex, market indices and other thematic sectors to cryptocurrency users by supporting the creation of “Liquids” — Linear’s synthetic asset tokens.

The protocol consists of various products like Linear.Buildr, a DApp used to manage Liquids using Linear (LINA) and other tokens as collateral. The exchange is specifically created to enable trading of a variety of Liquids with rapid confirmation times and robust security.

LINA is an ERC-20 token built on the Ethereum network whose main purpose is as collateral for Liquids (using Buildr) and for community governance of the protocol. All token holders have access to the Linear DAO, enabling them to vote on different initiatives and proposals, helping to shape the development of the Linear ecosystem.

The main goal of Linear is to provide a superior user experience with better scalability and greater speed thanks to the cross-chain capabilities of the protocol. Linear Finance intends to provide a simple solution for users that want exposure to traditional assets while still benefiting from the features enabled only by blockchain technology.

The protocol is made up of two parts: Stella Strategy and Stella Lend.

Stella Strategy: Users can access multiple selections of leveraged strategies with 0% borrowing interest for the first time and get yields on leverage.

Stella Lend: Lenders can lend assets to the lending pools on Stella and get real yields. Yields generated from Stella Strategy are shared to lenders.

Beta Finance is a permissionless money market on Ethereum for borrowing, lending and shorting crypto assets. It allows users to access a scalable and accessible money market where tokens can be listed permissionlessly and automatically and where users can short these tokens. Beta Finance plans to launch on additional layer one and layer two solutions after its Ethereum Mainnet launch.

Users have three options: lending, borrowing and shorting. Lenders will be able to lend crypto assets for any market that exists on Beta Finance and earn interest on it. Borrowers can take the contrary position, while short-sellers are able to use collateral to initiate short positions. Unlike centralized exchanges, Beta Finance does not use an order book to execute shorts but routes the trade through decentralized exchanges that use automated market makers. As part of its Phase 2 launch, the platform plans to release permissionless money market creation.

As stated in the official Livepeer whitepaper, the live video streaming and broadcasting industry is growing at a rapid pace, and the company is looking to ride this wave and introduce decentralization to the environment. Livepeer aims to streamline the broadcasting process by allowing producers to submit their work on the platform, taking care of reformatting and distributing the content to users and streaming platforms.

Bancor is an ecosystem of decentralized, open-source protocols that promote on-chain trading and liquidity.

Its main protocol, Carbon, is a decentralized trading protocol allowing users to perform automated trading strategies using custom on-chain limit orders and range orders, with the option of combining orders together to create automated buy low, sell high strategies.

By design, Carbon orders are irreversible on execution, easily adjustable directly on-chain, and resistant to MEV sandwich attacks. These capabilities give users an unprecedented level of control and automation to perform novel trading strategies on-chain.

Fast Lane, a separate open-source arbitrage protocol, allows any user to perform arbitrage between Bancor ecosystem protocols and external on-chain exchanges and redirect arbitrage profits back to the Bancor ecosystem.

All Bancor ecosystem protocols are governed by the BancorDAO via staked BNT.

Mask Network is a protocol that allows its users to send encrypted messages over Twitter and Facebook. It essentially acts as a bridge between the internet and a decentralized network running on top.

Mask Network was initially launched in July 2019, with its first use case of allowing Facebook and Twitter users to encrypt posts on the social media platforms. It then raised $2 million in a funding round in November 2020, co-led by HashKey and Hash Global, and a further $3 million funding round in February 2021 with participation from Digital Currency Group and Fundamental Labs.

Now, Mask Network offers the ability to fund Gitcoin grant campaigns directly from Twitter, as well as plans to offer peer-to-peer payments and decentralized storage functionality. It is a decentralized portal that also allows users to use DApps like crypto payments, decentralized finance, decentralized storage, e-commerce (digital goods/NFTs) and decentralized organizations (DAO) over the top of existing social networks without migrating, creating what is referred to as a decentralized Applet (DApplet) ecosystem.

Frax is the scarce commodity asset of the Fraxtal blockchain. It is the native gas token of the Fraxtal blockchain (North Star hardfork) and used to provide security to the network to run validators of the blockchain (upgraded in a future hardfork). Frax has a set, fixed emission schedule that cannot be changed. Thus, Frax is the only native monetary unit of the Fraxtal blockchain and Frax ecosystem.

Frax is not a governance token. It is a Commodity Asset used as base money on Fraxtal. It is entirely issued natively on the Fraxtal L1 blockchain with no provenance on Ethereum or other blockchains (although wrapped bridged versions are available). While users and projects can build protocols that can use Frax as a staking and governance token, Frax itself is not a governance token. It is the sole asset of the Fraxtal blockchain.

Frax Finance’s DeFi stack uses Frax as a restakable asset that provides cryptoeconomic security and governance voting rights to manage certain parameters of various Frax Finance DeFi protocols (such as veFRAX). These contracts are built on top of the Frax asset and not the underlying utility of the Frax asset. This is similar to a project using restaked ETH as its governance rights token. The restaked ETH token provides voting rights, utility, and cryptoeconomic security to the protocol, but the underlying protocol does not have ETH minting rights nor control of the ETH asset. The protocol using restaked ETH cannot stabilize asset pegs or change the ETH supply as part of its protocol function. This is the same relationship between the Frax ($FRAX) asset and the DeFi protocols using Frax as cryptoeconomic security including Frax Finance’s DeFi protocols.

Tail Emission
FRAX’s supply follows a tail emission schedule designed for sustainable growth. The token has an annual inflation of 8% initially (FIP-428), which decreases by 1% each year until reaching a floor of 3% after 6 years. These controlled emissions are allocated to various purposes (such community initiatives, Fraxtal ecosystem growth, team expansion, and the DAO treasury) to continuously fund the ecosystem while gradually reducing inflation over time.

Multichain (MULTI), previously known as Anyswap, claims to be the ultimate router for web3 and has positioned itself as an infrastructure developed for arbitrary cross-chain interactions.

As claimed in their official documentation, Multichain offers solutions that enable nearly all blockchains to interconnect – regardless if it is EVM chains (e.g., Avalanche), Layer 2 chains tied to Ethereum (like Polygon), Parachains networks like Moonbeam on Polkadot, and so on.

Multichain is a prominent name in the cross-chain space, with a rapidly growing network of 26 chains, with Total Value Locked (TVL) reaching highs of over $10.45 billion, and a sustained daily volume of over $100 million. However, the onset of the bear market and recent news of Multichain CEO being uncontactable saw TVL dropping to $1.38B.
